Janet Helliwell, RN, MSN, FNP-BC

A Bit About Me

Janet Helliwell, RN, MSN, FNP-BC is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She received her

graduate degree in 2009 from Graceland University in Missouri, her undergraduate degree in nursing

from Elms College in Chicopee in 1994 and her associate degree in respiratory care from STCC in 1990.

Janet’s true passion is partnering with her patients, motivating them to be the best they can be based

on the holistic model of nursing. Education and empowering patients are key components in not only

preventing illness in health promotion but treating chronic illnesses to ensure optimal wellness,

collaborating and engaging with patients, families and other health professionals to best meet the

individual needs of the patient; this model of care has led her to become certified in Women’s

Health/Menopause Coaching. In her personal time, she values spending time with her husband and

grown children at the beach or in the mountains hiking, biking, skiing as well as relaxing with a good

book or doing some yoga.

Bringing over 30 years of healthcare with experience in acute hospital and home-based organizations,

geriatric medicine, addiction medicine, family medicine and clinical drug research, she is looking forward

to bringing her passion to Chestnut Medical Associates.
